What Questions Do You Wish
You Could Ask John?

BG, Salem, OR

Ch 10 quote: "It's valuable for the body of Christ to find each other and share his life together. Where people are doing that they don't need commitment.  They'll bend over backwards to be with each other.  Where they aren't doing that, it does little good just to be committed to a meeting."

OK, so this sounds 'good' and 'right'.  What does it look like, John?  How does the 'shared Life together' play out opposed to commitment to a meeting?

  1. As you well know, the world's system swallowed up what we call "church" centuries ago. Knowing that the true "Church" is not an institution but rather the Body of Christ, and invisible to the human eye, what do we do with the organized religious programming that the world has become accustomed to and comfortable with?
  2. Is the "church" instution, or organized "churchianity", the "Babylon" mentioned in Revelation? If so, how do we "come out of her"? Must we cut all ties to Babylon, or do we live in exile hoping to rescue others from the coming judgement?
  3. People in America are so influenced by the visable spokespersons of the "Christian" subculture found on television, radio, print, etc. Many of these "ministries" have varying views on theology and politics, but they all have one major component in common; they are supported by the majority of Americans who call themselves "Chrisitians". How do we combat the overwhelming media saturation and the popularity of this subculture's views with the Truth?
  4. In a day when people would rather be entertained and emotionally engaged than discipled and spiritually challenged, how do we expand the Kingdom of God without becoming part of the "Babylon" we are trying to come out of?
  5. What do you do when you have been in "full-time ministry" for years, only to discover you were building the kingdom of religion, and not the Kingdom of God? What if this was your career, you have children, and your family has no other income?

Why is it so hard for us to trust God? Why is such a simple thing so hard to do?

Because God's Word, says not to give up meeting together, what can we do when we have seen the truth of all this, as God has slowly revealed it it our hearts,(or we have been slow to trust that it IS God), and, as yet, there are no believers fully on the journey with us? We have jumped into the deep - God is enough, but how can we continue to meet with believers in this transitional time. Now we know what has holding us up on the journey, we can't go backwards.

I hope he will ask him something along the lines of "What did Jesus mean when He told Peter about, "Feed My sheep" (John 21:17) and I'm curious about the conversation right after that, that He tells Peter how he will die and Peter refers to the disciple whom Jesus loved as the one who leaned on His breast and said,"Lord, which is he that betrayeth thee?" I don't understand and I want to understand better.

I hope he asks, "Where does one start?" . Getting up early and reading scripture for long hours in itself didn't work. The pain is so intense during the brokeness and not filling it up with ministry leaves one feeling very alone. I pray, "even though He slay me, I put my trust in Him." Friends can't stand to see the pain of your brokeness and stay away.."how do you explain what is going on when you don't even know for sure yourself?"
